Developmental Disabilities

Twin Oaks has developed a full continuum of services for developmentally disabled adults in our community. Through these services, we work in conjunction with our consumers to help them reach greater levels of wellness and self-sufficiency.

To help get on the right track, John began attending Harmony Place, a Mental Health Day Program, to learn essential job skills. His first attempt at new employment at a local department store did not go well and John was very disappointed that he didn’t succeed. This only motivated him to try and work on his attitude and appropriate responses toward authority figures.

Adult Treatment Center

The Pat LeBon Day Program/Empowerment Program serves adults dually diagnosed with a mental illness and developmental disability. The program revolves around the recurring events of daily living which presents opportunities for training perceptual abilities, gross and fine motor skills, coordination, communication skills and increased independence with self-care/hygiene.

Group Homes

Group homes afford individuals the opportunity to live as their abilities permit with 24/7 supervision. Staff provide the support needed to help individuals become contributing participants in their neighborhood and community organizations.
